MIRROR TRAINING SCHEME WITH ARMADA CLUBS. The Mirror Class Association is trying to encourage more ordinary sailors to get some basic training and beyond in order to to get more out of their boats of whatever age and condition.

This scheme is designed to appoint certain selected clubs within each Class Association area/RYA zone as ARMADA clubs that can provide regular and ongoing training to Mirror sailors through various levels of learning from beginner to advanced by means of structured programmes. The programmes are resourced by the RYA and the MCA in order to provide the trainers and equipment The training will be run by the clubs shown in the schedule below. If you are a Mirror sailor and are looking to learn with other Mirror sailors and are wanting to be taught how to get the most out of your boat then the clubs listed below will be able to help. The training will follow the RYA National Sailing Scheme from start sailing to advanced racing though it is up to you how far you want to progress. Some clubs may not offer all levels of training - the extent of what is offered is decided by the clubs as are the costs of participating.

The scheme is particularly suited to those who are new to Mirror sailing either as novices or coming from other classes. It is well suited to young singlehanded sailors(Oppies and Toppers) looking to pair up and go doublehanded, especially if interested in looking for places in zone squads. Also, families joining clubs to get the children involved are encouraged to look at this opportunity for sailing and learning with them.
