Hollingworth lake Open

On 5th June Hollingworth Lake held it's annual Mirror Open. A small fleet of 13 entries, depleted by GCSC's, and supplemented by 5 singlehanders enjoyed some close racing in tricky conditions.

Hot local favourites Anna Mackenzie and Nicola Brook, fresh from their 7th at the recent Nationals were firmly put in their place in Race 1 when they chose the wrong side of the first beat and got left in no wind, leaving an easy victory for the Hansen girls from Covenham. Anna and Nicola manged to fight back to 2nd just pipping Emma Houlihan and Emily Mackenzie from Windermere up the last beat.

Races 2 and 3 were held in firmer breezes and this time Anna and Nicola made no mistakes and easily won both races giving them victory for the 2nd year running. Gareth Hughes from Hollingworth won the singlehanders.
