Poole - Great Sailing Venue
As one of the World's largest natural harbours, Poole delivers
some superb safe coastal sailing in virtually any conditions.
Despite being a Harbour, Poole offers good sea conditions
without extremes. The 2006 Mirror Europeans will be sailed
from Poole YC, with the racecourse using the large expanse
of water (over 2 miles wide) opposite the clubhouse. Poole
YC is one the UK's premier clubs, with enormous experience
of running top events. 2005 saw the club host the highly successful
Mirror Nationals with 91 boats.
Top Class Mirror Competition
UK Mirror sailing is enjoying a resurgence of interest, with
growing numbers and close competition, attracting many top
sailors. The 2005 Nationals at Poole YC saw 91 boats competing
with sailors of all ages (7-70), including adult/child teams
and all juniors. Each race saw a different winner, so if you
are looking for close one design competition, the 2006 Mirror
Europeans will be the place to be.
Poole
- Great Holiday Destination
Poole and the surrounding Dorset countryside are one of the
UK's top tourist areas, with plenty of attractions for all
the family and a pleasant mild climate. Weymouth the 2012
Olympic sailing venue is a short drive away. From the wide
award winning sandy beaches to the many areas of historic
importance, there is something to suit all tastes to make
the 2006 Europeans a top holiday for all the family, competitors
and non-competitors (www.pooletourism.com).

Supporters
Recognising that this will be many families main annual holiday,
we will be working hard to ensure the non competitors have
a great time. A 150 seater spectator boat will take parents
and supporters to the heart of the racing, with live commentary,
also relayed to those ashore via Mirror FM, the dedicated
event radio station.
Entertainment
A full programme of family orientated entertainment is planned,
