We have a number of roles which urgently need filling from the AGM at Poole in August. In general roles do not require much time, per week, to be spent on them.

Below is a brief description of the role with approximate number of hours per month.

Treasurer

Receive invoices by e-mail, get approval to pay from one other committee member and pay them, normally by BACS using MCA account (online). Send accounts to auditors who prepare them to be submitted to Companies House in June. 1 hour per month max, with more work at year end.

Bosun

You haven't entered the Inlands on 13/14 July 19 yet? Here's you chance to do so at the discounted fee.  Only £20 if under 17 and £25 for the slightly older generation!  But be quick - £10 will be added after Sunday (7 July).  And note that you can get on site caravanning / camping for only £7 per night.

The Scottish Mirror Championship as part of the Northern traveller series was held for the first time since 2014 over the weekend of 22nd and 23rd of June on the Forth at Dalgety Bay Sailing Club.

21 eager Mirror sailors from across Scotland and further afield arrived at Dalgety Bay on Saturday morning to a gentle breeze, sun and warmth. The majority of the fleet were parents sailing with their young children as crews. The youngest of which was 4 and some who had never raced or been afloat for more than 30 minutes at a time. Some sailors remembered sailing Mirrors against other members of the fleet in their younger days. The boats also varied from the latest Winder boats to some boats which were probably older than the sailors.

16 boats from six different clubs competed in the Mirror Southerns at Itchenor SC.

4 short races were sailed in a light and shifty south-westerly breeze in a building ebbing tide.

Chris and Alex Balding (Island Barn Reservoir SC) emerged champions winining races 1 and 3, one point ahead of National Champions Chris and Daisy Fuller (Hayling Island SC) who won the last race. Third place went to Paul and Harrison Smalley (Chew Valley Lake SC).
