Hi all you Sizzly Zizzlies - now you've sorted the pringles problem I hope you're all set up for the Traveller series starting at Papercourt on 6th April. If you don't know about it you should so go to the mirror website and look for southern traveller on the events page. The programme and entry form are there and links to the host club websites so you can get NoR's and everything you need to know. I expect Peter will be hoping for some star performances this year and there should be some nice trophies at the end of the series. Go for it - after all that training you'll really enjoy it. Hope to see you at a few of them.

Attention all southern sailors - this is your Captain speaking. Well done to all the non-swimmers at the Warsash Open and thanks to WSC for putting on the event - pity about the gale. Alas, with only one race it doesn't count for the Travellers series but we've still got 11(with now only 6 to count - 50%+1) as the Hill Head Open has been put back to 22nd Sept ie the day after the Emsworth Slipper Open. The rankings should be getting very tight by then so we expect there to be lots of competition for the 5 prize categories (see the event page for what these are). Don't forget it's Bosham and Chichester in 2 weeks which will be good venue practice for the Southerns. CU all there and good sailing. Is anyone going to be trying their hand against the Northern lake sailors this w/e at Winsford Flash? - it's worth the visit.
Regards - John

Nice one Neil; it'll be good to see you. Can you persuade any others to come up? How about the 2 Olly's and the Ellis's? Craig Bond is coming from Brightlingsea so it should be a good event. John

Greetings all Mirror sailors - this is your Captain speaking. Race 5 in the Southern Traveller series is this w/e at Lymington Town SC and all the info is on their website (access via link on MIrror events page). It looks as though the weather will be kind (sort of) so hope to see lots of you there. We've had a turnout of 24 boats at the last 3 meetings so it would be nice to top this. We seem to have an awful lot of DNC's in the rankings list because many of you are not travelling to events beyond your own local ones which defeats the object of the exercise. The core of the zone squad are having a good tussle for places just behind the leaders and this week end will be good practise for the Volvo w/e at Lee-on-Solent so persuade your Mums and Dads to get you to Lymington this w/e. Good sailing - John

Hello all southern mirror sailors. A message from your captain. Don't forget the Southern Traveller on Sat 13/7 at Spinnaker SC near Ringwood ( a good chance to do some pond sailing and practice reading wind shifts. There are going to be some pretty ace visitors from further afield to give the event a boost so hope to see you all there. The first race is 11.00 so 9-ish would be a good time to arrive.
The following Sunday 21/7 the fleet moves to Felpham (a sea venue off the beach) near Bognor and this too will have some keen visitors from afar. It will be the last ST event before the Europeans so a good chance to build that team spirit. Again, racing starts at 11.00 so 9-ish is a goods time to get there. Lots of info on the club's website.
Good sailing - John

Hello Southern Travellers. It seems a lot of you only do your own club event and don't travel to others - just look at the list of DNCs on the event results page. remember, the next event is a double-header at Emsworth Slipper on 21 Sept and Hill Head on 22nd so lots of opportunity to get yourselves into the prizes. Let's hope you'll all have been to the Westerns, Y&Js and Midlands on the 3 preceding week ends and are really sharp. I hope we'll see our usual visitors from out of the area, Craig & Mitchell, Guy and Ben/Joe and Ron Vass.
Your parents will enjoy the Emsworth Open because it co-incides with a scrummy Food Fair on the Quay so they can indulge themselves while you starve on the water!! Hope to see you all. JOHN
