Hannah MITCHELL lies in second place in the 420s going into the final day, importantly they are first ladies and in line for selection to the ISAF Youth Worlds, following on the long tradition of Mirror sailors being selected to represent GBR at this significant event, which many regard as the Youth Olympics.
Hannah Mitchell finishes top girl in 420, 2nd overall and selected to represent GBR at ISAF Youth Worlds in Turkey, continuing the long line of Mirror sailors making the team for this prestigious event. Remember, like the Olympics only one boat is allowed per country for each class, so a fantastic achievement which MCA should be rightly proud of.
We should also celebrate the fact Mirror sailors achieved podium positions in all the double hander youth classes at the 2010 RYA Volvo Youth Championships :
420 – Hannah Mitchell, 2nd overall and 1st lady
29er - Lilly Carlisle, 3rd overall and 1st Lady
29er – Becky Walbank, 2nd all girls team
Spitfire - Michael Conlon, 2nd Overall
There were also many other Mirror sailors competing in the various fleets, fulfilling one of the classes roles of developing top youth sailors.
