Has anyone made any measured drawings of the mirror, or better still a 3D model?

I've seen some remote controlled models. I don't know about measured drawings; do you mean like blue-prints/architect style drawings?

I spent a mad evening trying to build a 3D autocad model of a Mirror just from the data in the handbook. When the nights start to draw in and sailing hours are reduced, I might get around to finishing it.

pigs can....and do.....

I'm planning on making a simple Sketch-Up model in order to play around with tents, sleeping and similar arrangements over the long winter. I hoped that a simple measured drawing would give me a head start. Thanks for your response.

Hi Neil,

The only official drawings are of the panel shapes and other parts which make up the kit. These are owned by ISAF (International Sailing Federation http://www.sailing.org ) and only available to licenced kit manufacturers.

You can probably work out a lot of details you need from the published measurement rules which are on the ISAF web site (Rules/Technical/Class Rules/Centreboard Boats/Mirror

Rule 1.3.5 shows you where the measurement stations are along the hull. Rule 1.4.3 shows you the basic hull dimensions. I guess the beam at sheerline (B) is of most interest if you are trying to make a tent. The height of the deck below the sheerline is covered by rule 1.6.7 and the height of the boom above the deck is in rule 5.1.6

Are there Mirrors sailing in Germany ?

Oh wow! 24 sides of rules and I'm probably just about to break most of them.
As for mirrors in Germany I only know of mine. I learnt to sail in one as a child and picked one up in Amsterdam last year (in Holland there are many). I hope to tour around with mine like Mackinnon in Jack de Crow.
Thanks Martin.

if you've not already seen it then take a look at http://www.btinternet.com/~sail/mirror.htm which might help, or at least inspire ;-)
