I have been told that a laminated centreboard is much better than plywood. Has any one made a board if so what woods should I use?

The usual materials are red and or yellow cedar with Mahogany leading and trailing edges.

Can anyone tell me who sells this type of centreboard and rudder and how much they cost? as I have searched and searched on the net without finding them, or am I better off waiting until I can afford to buy the white GRP foils that Trident sell?

Hi Rob
Dave Butler of Butler Boats makes laminated dagger boards we paid £100 and Roy Platford makes rudder blades that are really nice we paid £45
Both people are in the year book Dave as a builder and Roy as a measurer.
My girls are more than happy with these and they are alot cheaper than either GRP or Milanes.
Paul

Paul, your girls could sail with a brick in their centreboard cas and still beat most sailors out there!
