The first Nationwide event of the year started with two races in changeable, patchy conditions. The first race started at one O'clock with quite a few boats managing to be late for the start despite it being only a few meters from the shore.
Nine boats arrived at Hollingworth Lake SC for the Mirror open on Saturday. The fleet launched into an unexpected hailstorm, which luckily soon passed and the race got underway.
Despite the questionable forecast, 6 boats were greeted to fine conditions and a strengthening wind from the NW. There was some excellent sailing on display throughout the day.
