What do you want in a sailing venue? Great beach, fantastic weather, a friendly club, good wind and lots of boats?!
Highcliffe SC certainly provided the first three on Saturday 6th July with a glorious sunny day in a fantastic setting with launching from the beach at the entrance to Christchurch Harbour.
The Notice Of Race for the Highcliffe SC Mirror & Laser Open on Saturday the 6th July is now available. This is a new venue with sea sailing. Only one day. It would be great to see a good turnout. The club is on the eastern side of Christchurch Harbour, postcode - BH23 4AB.
Warsash is renowned for varied conditions whenever the Mirror fleet visit and 2013 was no exception. 19 competitive boats arrived on Saturday 15th June to a steady 25 kts, with a forecast of gusts over 40 kts. As the J80s were limping back into the River Hamble having had their Nationals racing cancelled, Peter Spencer, the infamous Hamble Spring Series Race Officer, wisely decided to cancel racing for the day - which allowed the younger competitors to join in with the Hamble Harbour Master's Crab Fishing Competition.
