Sunday the 7th of September saw Red sails reappear in Plymouth sound for the 5th and final round of the Gul SW Mirror traveller series 2014 combined with the Ullman Enterprise open at the Royal Plymouth Corinthian Yacht Club.
With the forecast promising a maximum of 4 knots of wind and settled weather, the race team discussed long and hard about cancelling the event on Saturday. Only on a visit to the race area was it found that a sea breeze had developed and it was hoped it would return again for the event the next day. So with a delayed start posted late on Saturday evening and emails and texts flying around the ether late into the evening, the fleet made their way across the border to Devon.
The Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions for the combined Enterprise & Mirror Open at Royal Plymouth Corinthian YC on 7th September have been published and can be downloaded via the links. The Mirror Open is the final event in the Gul 2014 SW Travellers series.

The latest Gul south west Mirror traveller event was a hit. Hosted by Looe Sailing Club, with 11 mirrors racing alongside the club's Enterprise open meeting. The 20 boat fleet was met by a steady 12kt breeze from the south west meaning that close skilful racing was guaranteed to be key to success.

With a steady southerly 12-17 knot breeze in Falmouth harbour, Restronguet sailing club's open meeting and Gul SW Traveller series was a success, with 2 traveling from Looe and the locals sailing, it lead to some great racing.
In race one Scarlett Shepherd & Harvey Martin sailing 70716 "The Bootle Bumtrinket" made the best start, but Martin Egan and Geroge Lenney in 69667 "Bold Forester" were first to the windward mark with Esther Bowdler & Scarlett Crago in 70537 "Complete & Utter Chaos" second with Scarlett & Harvey close behind.
