Navigators and General End of Season Championships and Nationwide Event, Northampton SC , 11/12 Oct

There was a good turnout of 21 mirrors on a light Saturday morning at Northampton sailing club for the final nationwide event sponsored by Navigators and General.

There was a short delay due to the light wind but we soon got underway with the first race. Henry and Jamie took the first race after overtaking Robert and Sandy who seemed to be flying after their brilliant start, with Rachel and Gemma closely behind to take the third place.

The Notice of Race, the Sailing Instructions and the entry form for the Navigators & General Nationwide Series 5, NJS & NYDS (north) squad qualifier at Northampton SC on 11th & 12th October have been published and can be downloaded via the links. The "Attachment A" mentioned in the Sailing Instructions is a sticky map of the reservoir, and will be available during registration.

Entry online (£35 double handers / £25 single handers) is available via SailScore until 9 pm on Wednesday October 8th 2014, after which time the late entry fee is £45 & £35 respectively using the entry form.

Navigators and General Inland Championships 2014

Light breeze forecast to build throughout the day awaited the 19 boats that attended theNavigators and General Inland Championships this weekend. The plan was for 4 races on the first day 2 back to back in the morning followed by 2 back to back in the afternoon, this allowed for two races in the morning the following day so the sailors could compete in The Barts Bash.

The first race was in light, shifty conditions and got away with a fantastic start from Tom Dean, a port flyer causing him to be first to the windward mark and lead the majority of the first lap. The Rastricks were OCS and had to go round the end but recovered incredibly well to finish 3rd. Robert and Sandy sailed a fantastic race catching Tom and overtaking to win the race with Reg and Alex 2nd.
