The Organising Committee still have one brand new Mk 3 Mirror (never been in the water) with new sails available for charter at the Worlds. If anyone wants to make a last minute decision to attend, this boat is available at a cost of AUD2,000 incl sails or about GBP1,140. We will be offering this boat to Australian sailors if we have not received any interest from an overseas entrant by next Monday 26 November 2018.

Friday was the start of the journey for four Mirror dinghies from the UK heading to Australia for the 18th Mirror Dinghy World Championships. Although in reality that journey started several years ago, with the top team competing in events and training hard since the last World Championships hosted by Restronguet Sailing Club.
Thanks to support from Cummins Corporation local office, based in Daventry, the team have been able to ship their boats alongside the engine and generator equipment going out to Sydney. Much to the amusement of the loading team at Heathrow.
There is enough interest from Mirror sailors in the UK and Europe to send a container to the 2019 Worlds in Sydney. However, we need to get a firm idea of the numbers of boats going so we can decide between a 20' container (taking 8 or 10 boats) or a 40' (taking 12 or 15 boats).
If you have a firm interest in attending this event, and have not already posted something on the UK Mirror Class Facebook page, please e-mail
