Crewsaver Mirror Nationwide Trophy2011 kicked off its season in Scotland at Annandale SC. On Sat 10th and Sun 11th April.
There was a good showing of local and Scottish boats that turned out to challenge the visitors from as far away as Poole Yacht Club. Saturday Very light shifty winds tested the skills of all helms and crews on Saturday. The race officer did a great job to get all three scheduled races sailed in the prevailing conditions. Competition was very close at all levels within the fleet with lots of very close racing taking place
The full National Junior Squad made the journey to Rutland Water this weekend for some intensive Mirror training. We couldn’t have ordered better weather with sun and wind in perfect proportions! With our own separate training area at the club we got to work with a compass challenge on the shore to learn the techniques that we would use on the water and in our racing through the year.
