The fifth and final round of this years South West Mirror Travellers series took place over the weekend of 17/18th September, as part of the Poole YC Youth Regatta. Conditions proved challenging over the two day event, which was also acting as a Zone and National Squad qualifier as well as a Southern Traveller.

Well, if we will sail when there is a hurricane approaching Northern Britain we have to put up with the consequences! And, yes, it was windy!

Which is the premier regatta on the River Hamble? Not the Warsash Sring Series, or the Hamble Winter Series - it is clearly the Burseldon Regatta held this year over the weekend of 3 / 4 September. It is probably the most challenging sailing to be found on the river - particularly when you find yourself hemmed in between trots of very expensive yachts and the mudbanks.
The full results for the Crewsaver Nationwide Series is now available online - click on 'Read More' for the full list.
Further to today's earlier posting on the south west forum, the NOR for the final event in the 2011 GUL SW Travellers series can be found using the following link http://www.pooleyc.co.uk/cms/index.asp? ... outh&tm=59
Please note - this regatta is for entries up to U19 only. Apologies to any adults that were intending to enter, but this restriction was not realised when agreeing the date with Poole YC.
